Understand the Core Family Travel Entitlement

When you are posted to a new station or are assuming duty for the first time, the government will provide free official transport for your immediate family: your spouse and up to three dependent children under the age of 18. This entitlement covers the journey from your previous station to your new duty station. Children aged 18 and over, or children who are not financially dependent on you, are not covered by this provision. Only one such family travel entitlement is normally granted per posting.
